Impressive Line-Up Announced for the Next Generation Club’s Careers Course

The Next Generation Club (NGC) is delighted to announce the programme of speakers and events for their inaugural Careers Course.
This unique and fascinating new course is aimed at those seeking employment in the Thoroughbred industry, or anybody who already works in the industry and is looking to move up the career ladder or sample a new sector. The two informative days will showcase the variety of opportunities available within breeding and associated areas through a broad range of respected and influential speakers who have developed successful careers within the industry.
The course was secured thanks to funding from the BHA Grant Scheme and support from the DCMS. It will be run over two days, on the 6th and 7th of November and take place at Tattersalls Park Paddocks, Newmarket. The format will consist of insightful talks as well as exclusive visits to:
- Newmarket Equine Hospital
- Cheveley Park Stud
- Dalham Hall Stud
- Hamilton Hill (Darley Pre-Training)
The broad range of speakers will be focusing on their current role and also share advice and guidance on how to approach finding the right job. These include:
- Ed Walker (Racehorse Trainer)
- Brian O’Rourke (Managing Director, The National Stud)
- James O’Donnell (Nominations Executive at Juddmonte)
- Adrian McGlynn (Company Secretary, Weatherbys)
- Matt Coleman (Bloodstock Agent)
- Matt Prior (Auctioneer at Tattersalls)
There will also be short talks from representatives of:
- The Darley Flying Start
- The BHA Graduate Development Programme
- Amlin Plus Bloodstock Insurance
- Smith & Williamson (Bloodstock Accountancy & Tax)
There will be a fantastic networking opportunity for delegates at a drinks evening sponsored by The Jockey Club and hosted by the Jockey Club Rooms, Newmarket on Thursday 6th November. Through this course, the NGC aims to give young people hoping to pursue a career in Thoroughbred Breeding a chance to find that opportunity and an understanding into the lives of professionals in the industry.
